Denon AVR-1912 Real Customer Reviews

Denon AVR-1912
Denon AVR-1912 is an audio / video receiver with 7.1 125W 6 ohms per channel (90 W at 8 ohms), which supports Dolby TrueHD and ilDTS-HD Master Audio as well as Dolby Pro Logic IIz.
Provides connectivity across the board through the rear Ethernet port and the front USB.
The most interesting aspect is undoubtedly the support AirPlay, the audio-video streaming protocol implemented in all Apple products and now increasingly being adopted in view of personal entertainment, from radio to TV.
From the Mac, such as iPod or iPhone, you can share with the
Denon AVR-1912 music, owned by us or purchased on the iTunes Store.
The USB port lets you connect directly instead of the devices of “the family”. Denon finally made a free App, “Denon Remote”, which lets you control the basic operations of the tuner-amplifier, comel’accensione, volume, mode sound or source selection.
Connectivity does not stop there, because you can play through Ethernet Internet radio, interface with any device that supports DLNA, so a PC, Mac or PS3 for example, and connect directly with Windows 7 Play To and its service , Inquest cases also sharing photos, music and videos.
From the standpoint of sound
Denon AVR-1912 is compatible with the FLAC lossless audio dicompressione a method (ie without loss of quality of MP3 odell’AAC) very efficient, which allows you to compress an audio track anchedel 40/50% and which is now supported by virtually all audio software.
The rear doors are for everyone: a inputcomponent, two composite, one S-Video, 5 RCA stereo audio inputs, plus one coaxial and one optical.
And ‘to emphasize the presence of 6 HDMI inputs and one output, allowing you to connect multiple devices simultaneously, which is useful given the lack of HDMI ports on TV presenzadi. All are then used with HDMI 1.4a 3D lettoriBluRay compatible with the Audio Return.
With the implementation of version 1.4a HDMI was introduced to the Audio Return Channel (ARC) that allows the transit of the audio in the opposite direction, eliminating the need for additional wires from the TV to the tuner-amplifier for listening, For example, the digital terrestrial channels.
Obviously there is full compatibility with the 3D flow has become increasingly present.
As in previous models (1909,1910,1911) is the integration of Audyssey Dynamic Volume, a technology developed by Audyssey that deals, once you set the desired volume level of audio such as advertising and fiction oanche within the same broadcast dialogues, explosions, or momentiromantici action.
The
Denon AVR-1912 is configured so as a good product, full digital connectivity, and its analog connection, but what they need to most living rooms.

Bought this as a replacement for my Onkyo HTIB system after the receiver conked out in less than two years (kept the speakers though, they’re quite good for the money). Running the setup wizard made hooking everything up/calibrating the speakers a breeze. Right away I noticed a subtle improvement in the sound of my system. It’s hard to quantify exactly, but I’d say the imaging of some mid to high frequencies has improved. It does an outstanding job with movies, and a much better job than my Onkyo ever did with making music sound great.
The coolest feature by far has to be the ability to stream audio over any apple airplay supported device directly to the receiver. I’m still geeking out over the ability to be playing a song from my iphone in the car, walk in the front door of my house, and with a tap on my iphone screen have it begin playing on my sound system, awesome. Occasionally I’ll get hiccups in playback, which are usually due to reception issues, or if I switch apps on my iphone in rapid succession (i.e. between youtube and itunes), but eventually it resumes normally. Very rarely, I’ll need to replug the receiver’s ethernet cable to my router to resolve network issues, but again this is rare. I spoke with Denon’s customer support by phone about this, (which in my experience was excellent) and they explained how the reciever could be given a static IP address (rather than dynamic) on my home network to prevent this from happening. I’m sure it would, but given that it happens so infrequently, and that I generally live in fear of troubleshooting network issues, I haven’t bothered to yet.
It’s just awesome. The AirPlay feature is the coolest thing since sliced bread!!! HDMI CEC features are great, it integrates well with the Logitech Revue. The networking is cool, but it would be nice to have built-in wifi. I would like to see more firmware updates, I want MOG, or Spotify, integrated into this receiver!!! MOG is 320 kbps steaming music service, not having it in the receiver is not a big issue for me though since I have an iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro that are AirPlay compatible. Again, AirPlay combined with the awesome audio quality is the coolest feature of this receiver. Oh yeah, one major problem with this receiver is the complete lack of RCA preamp audio out jacks… making it hard to configure multi-zone/room setups. With RCA outputs you could connect multiple rooms via shielded coax cable… having multiple AirPlay devices would work too. Did I mention that I love AirPlay?

I open this discussion because they are in possession of this model after three years of successful use of an Denon AVR-1912 silver.
After many thoughts I chose this model because the 1909 is not conveying signals forced me to use 3D in a bad way atif on my Sony LCD 46HX920 new scheme.
After having documented sgli current sintoampli I decided on this model.
The first impression than the old 1909 was negative in many ways, but now I see these changes in perspective on the use of a new era of new sintoampli.
In practice, these devices should be considered as computer peripherals.
Personally negative points:
1) It seems that for this type of models will no longer be the silver version which I think a sense of professional equipment.
2) The keys of the various functions and also decreased the display and very thin (you have to go to 2312 for the same indication of the old 1909), we can not do the setup from the apparatus, but only through the remote control.
3) Having few analog video was not implemented the upsaling (in certain situations also need to HDMI)
Personally positive points:
1 Finally, even if there is a basic GUI with the video overlay. (Not with 3D signal!)
2 Valid Audyssey MultEQ calibration system XT
3 The option to manage the various functions partially through WEB
4 The Airplay for those who OWN Apple products.
5 iPhone app works and this allows almost total management of the Denon AVR-1912.
6 On the audio front, I took no significant improvements although probably introduced by the calibration more accurate version of the XT.
7 is an interesting possibility to implement new features scaricametento through the network (there is a special menu in the firmware update), the management through the computer and everything that makes for a collegameto network.
For now, I am satisfied with the Denon AVR-1912.
